LucemStone® is a high-performance terrazzo composed of noble aggregates: marble, granite, quartz…
A true contemporary tribute to ancestral terrazzo, it combines the authenticity and durability of stone with the innovative technologies of AdLucem®.
For exceptional spaces and rooms, AdLucem® offers a unique worldwide range of terrazzo featuring finely selected semi-precious stones.
a material that sculpts spaces.
LucemStone® terrazzo is not merely a surface covering but a true design tool. This living material offers architects and designers an infinite field of expression, combining technical reliability with aesthetic freedom. The LucemStone® collection showcases over 200 original designs.
Custom references can be developed to affirm the identity of your project. Each composition reveals a play of contrast between the fineness of the binder and the strength of the aggregates, which together transform the surface into a fully-fledged architectural element.
From floor to wall, from benchtop to joinery, LucemStone® adapts to every dimension thanks to our dedicated prefabrication workshop: AdLucemCréation®. Slabs, staircases, skirtings, bespoke furniture — every project takes shape in a material that is designed, produced and crafted, backed by our design office and all our passion.
a millimetric terrazzo.
The expertise of our formulation, particularly in adhesion, enables application at a thickness of 9 to 12 mm. Our factory pre-dosed, ready-to-use materials and our training centre ensure confidence in the application of this exceptional craftsmanship material.
Our technical approval attests to this rigour: a mark of trust for public contracts and large-scale projects where floor performance is as critical as its aesthetics.
TECHNICAL APPROVAL No. 12/20-1799_V3 dated 4 November 2024. [It provides all specifiers, applicators and clients with the essential legal protection required to trigger property damage and ten-year liability insurance upon project handover. LucemStone® is also suited to premises rated U4 P4 E2 C2 under the current UPEC classification.]
a reclaimed material
Beyond its exceptional resistance and natural longevity — which make it a lasting, robust material — LucemStone® embraces an eco-design philosophy.
We work with architects and project owners to explore responsible approaches where aggregates salvaged from demolition become witnesses of a place, reincarnated in a unique terrazzo.
Each project can thus carry a mineral memory, a tangible link between past and present, aesthetic and meaning, creation and legacy.
Our development team supports this approach to design bespoke terrazzo, conceived to endure and to tell — through material — the story of these spaces.
Our materials must be applied to a cohesive and competent substrate — which is rarely the case in refurbishment. The adhesion and hardness of our systems can become a disadvantage because substrate defects migrate to the surface.
We needed to address these interface issues. Fermacell dry screeds provide complete disconnection from the substrate, preventing defects from coming through to the surface.
FermaStone® is the answer under Technical Approval, freeing you from existing floor conditions and delivering a U4 P4 E2 C2 rating under the current UPEC classification.
Our trainers, experienced professionals, pass on their expertise to help you apply our systems and manage your projects. Impress your clients by offering different textures, finishes and applications. We support you in developing your offer and becoming an AdLucem terrazzo specialist.
The AdLucem training centre (activity declaration no. 82 26 02220 26) holds Qualiopi certification under France's National Framework for training activities L.6313-1 -1°.
92 trainees completed our courses between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024. The average satisfaction score over this period was 9.39/10.
What substrates can terrazzo be applied to?
AdLucem terrazzo can be applied to:
What is the thickness of the terrazzo?
The final thickness depends on the system chosen and aggregate particle size:
5 mm — LucemGlass®
8 mm — LucemStar®
9 mm — LucemStone12®
12 mm — LucemStone16®
These contemporary thicknesses, combined with application protocols, allow easy integration into current projects — new-build and renovation alike.
Is it compatible with underfloor heating?
AdLucem® terrazzo is compatible with:
Its mineral composition promotes excellent heat diffusion.
Is it suited to all project types?
AdLucem® terrazzo is designed to meet the requirements of:
Its mechanical resistance and durability make it suitable for both residential and commercial use.
Are movement joints required?
AdLucem® terrazzo provides a visually continuous surface, without joints.
However, existing movement joints in the substrate must be maintained to prevent cracking.
They are discreetly integrated into the final appearance.
Is the finish consistent?
Thanks to factory pre-dosing, AdLucem® kits guarantee design consistency and aesthetic control.
Aggregate distribution and binder shade are calibrated to ensure a balanced result true to the chosen model.
Can the design be customised?
Yes, subject to certain conditions.
Customisation may involve:
Any custom request is subject to a study conducted by our chemist-colourists and engineers.
This study is chargeable and guarantees technical feasibility and system stability.
How does it differ from traditional terrazzo?
AdLucem® terrazzo uses contemporary thicknesses of 5 to 12 mm, compared with several centimetres for traditional versions.
This evolution addresses modern constraints:
They nonetheless preserve the Italian terrazzo heritage:
Does terrazzo pair well with other materials?
Yes.
Its mineral aesthetic pairs beautifully with:
Each floor is unique, rich with nuances that define its character — a true mineral material.
It brings a noble, timeless and architectural dimension to spaces.
Is terrazzo porous?
No.
A mineralisation and water-repellent layer is applied to densify and protect the surface.
Is it slippery once polished?
No.
The PN24 rating attests to its slip resistance.
For wet areas, specific finishes are available:
These finishes further improve anti-slip properties.
Is it sensitive to stains (wine, oil, lemon, etc.)?
The system benefits from a hydrophobic-oleophobic protection, effective against common stains for several hours, allowing cleaning without surface damage.
How do you maintain it day-to-day? Is re-polishing or re-protection needed over time?
Use LucemCare® cleaner with a scrubber equipped with a MPMS Rubis diamond pad.
