A high-performance solution

A high-performance solution

all about finesse.

At just 5 mm thick, LucemGlass® creates continuous, jointless surfaces with an authentic mineral finish. Its subtlety allows it to dialogue with visually richer materials in shade, texture and design.

Under technical approval, its formulation delivers perfect adhesion and high resistance (rated U4P4E2C2 under the current UPEC classification), comparable to our thicker terrazzo systems.

From new-build to renovation

high-traffic floors

With its excellent cost-performance ratio and minimal build-up, it stands as a benchmark solution for renovation — even replacing tiles.

Its reduced application time and controlled cost make it particularly suited to public contracts, community facilities, retail spaces and public-access buildings.

This micro-terrazzo is a truly smart compromise between cost, reliability and premium finish.

From new-build to renovation

▷ Factory pre-dosing and industrialisation of LucemGlass® guarantee design consistency.

▷ Excellent workability allows efficient management of on-site progress.

▷ Application requires no specialist equipment.

▷ Suited to renovation on existing floors thanks to its minimal thickness.

▷ Exceptional value for money.

▷ LucemGlass® is a noble material capturing the mineral purity and aesthetics of a polished finish.

▷ The absence of joints brings continuity and depth to spaces.

▷ A collection of 15 references.

▷ The materials composing LucemGlass® enable it to be used in premises rated U4 P4 E2 C2 under the UPEC classification.

▷ LucemGlass® is compatible with RE 2020 thermal regulations — ATEx for reversible underfloor heating.

▷ LucemGlass® contributes to A+ indoor air quality.

▷ FDES (Environmental and Health Product Declaration) available for building environmental performance calculations.

▷ Unlike resin-based terrazzo, our mineral granito is UV-resistant.

▷ Easy maintenance. Download the "LucemGlass surface care" data sheet.

▷ The polished mineral blend delivers timeless longevity and aesthetics.

Technical & feasibility

What substrates can terrazzo be applied to?

AdLucem terrazzo can be applied to:

  • Concrete slab
  • Cement screed
  • Dry screed (e.g. Fermacell)
  • Existing substrate in renovation (after suitable preparation)

The final thickness depends on the system chosen and aggregate particle size:

5 mm — LucemGlass®
8 mm — LucemStar®
12 mm — LucemStone®

These contemporary thicknesses allow easy integration into current projects — new-build and renovation alike.

Is it compatible with underfloor heating?

AdLucem terrazzo is compatible with:

  • Underfloor heating
  • Reversible underfloor heating/cooling

Its mineral composition promotes excellent thermal inertia and heat diffusion.

Is it suited to all project types?

AdLucem terrazzo is designed to meet the requirements of:

  • Residential (all rooms)
  • Cafés, Hotels, Restaurants
  • Offices
  • Public spaces

Its mechanical resistance and durability make it suitable for both residential and commercial use.

Are movement joints required?

Substrate movement joints must be maintained in the surface finish.

In addition, movement joints are recommended every 100 m² to accommodate structural movement and ensure the floor's longevity.

Aesthetics & appearance

Is the finish consistent?

Thanks to factory pre-dosing, AdLucem kits guarantee design consistency and aesthetic control.

Aggregate distribution and binder shade are calibrated for a balanced result true to the chosen model.

Can the design be customised?

Yes, subject to certain conditions.

Customisation may involve:

  • Binder colour
  • Aggregate type and shade

Any custom request is subject to a study by our chemist-colourists and engineers.

This study is chargeable and guarantees technical feasibility and system stability.

How does it differ from traditional terrazzo?

AdLucem terrazzo uses contemporary thicknesses of 5 to 12 mm, compared with 5 to 10 cm for traditional versions.

This addresses modern constraints:

  • Project timelines
  • Compatibility with current structures
  • Load reduction
  • Optimised application

They preserve the Italian terrazzo heritage:

  • Durability
  • Longevity
  • Marble-like finishes
  • Authentic mineral craftsmanship

Does terrazzo pair well with other materials?

Yes.

Its mineral aesthetic pairs beautifully with:

  • Timber
  • Metal
  • Glass
  • Natural stone

It brings a noble, timeless and architectural dimension to spaces.

Maintenance & daily use

Is it porous?

No.

A LucemSill mineralisation layer is applied to densify and protect the surface.

Is it slippery once polished?

No.

The PN24 rating attests to its slip resistance.

For wet or outdoor areas, specific finishes are available:

  • Brushed finish
  • Bush-hammered finish

These finishes further improve anti-slip properties.

Is it sensitive to stains (wine, oil, lemon, etc.)?

The system benefits from LucemShield+ protection, effective against common stains for 24 hours, allowing cleaning without surface damage.

How do you maintain it day-to-day? Is re-polishing or re-protection needed over time?

For small surfaces:
Standard cloth cleaning is sufficient.

For large surfaces or high-traffic areas:
Use LucemCare® cleaner with a scrubber equipped with a MPMS Rubis diamond pad.

This achieves:

  • Gloss restoration
  • Surface regeneration

The following must be avoided:

  • Ammonia
  • Vinegar
  • Bleach
  • Multi-purpose cleaners
  • Acidic or limescale products
